Terms of Service

Effective October 16, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Edward Lukowsky ("we", "us"), who makes OnPrompt, the teleprompter app for iPhone and Apple Watch, and its website and server (together, "OnPrompt"). You must agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy to use OnPrompt.

By tapping Agree in the app, or by downloading, opening or continuing to use OnPrompt, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. Your continued use of OnPrompt is your agreement to them, including any updated version in effect at the time. If you do not agree, you may not use OnPrompt and must stop using it.

1. Who can use OnPrompt

You must be at least 13 years old to use OnPrompt. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you.

2. The app license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use OnPrompt on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app. If it conflicts with these terms, these terms control to the extent the Apple agreement allows.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.

3. Your content

Your scripts, recordings, voice profiles and other material you create or bring into OnPrompt ("your content") belong to you. We do not claim ownership of them.

Most of your content never leaves your devices. If you turn on video sync, you give us permission to store and transmit your encrypted videos only so we can sync them between your devices. This permission ends when you delete the videos or your account.

You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the rights to the scripts you use and to everything you record, and that you have the consent of anyone you record where the law requires it. Laws about recording people differ from place to place.

4. Free features and OnPrompt Pro

Core teleprompting is free. The free version saves up to three scripts. OnPrompt Pro unlocks unlimited scripts and the features marked Pro in the app, which currently include speaker colors in multi-speaker scripts, two-angle recording, automatic framing when you review a take, smart cleanup, the Google Docs connection, video sync and the Apple Watch remote. We may add, change or remove features over time.

5. Subscriptions, trials and billing

• Plans. OnPrompt Pro is offered as a monthly or a yearly auto-renewing subscription. The price and length of each plan are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment through Apple. You buy Pro through your Apple ID. Apple charges your Apple ID account and handles payment, billing and receipts.
• Free trial. Eligible new subscribers get a free trial, currently one month, as shown in the app. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts and your Apple ID is charged for the plan you chose when the trial ends.
• Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the then-current price, unless you turn off automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Cancel or change. Manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Canceling stops future renewals. Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
• Price changes. If we raise the price of a plan, Apple will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before you are charged the new price.
• Restore. Restore Purchases in the app turns Pro back on for any device signed in to the same Apple ID.

6. Video sync

Video sync is an optional Pro feature that needs Sign in with Apple. Your videos are encrypted on your device with a key kept in your iCloud Keychain. Because we never have that key, we cannot recover your videos if you lose access to your iCloud Keychain and your recovery key. Keep your recovery key safe.

Video sync is for moving takes between your own devices. It is not a backup service, and you should keep your own copies of anything important. Storage is included in Pro, subject to a fair-use limit that protects the service from abuse. If your subscription ends, your synced videos stay until you delete them, but you need Pro to upload or download them.

You can delete your video sync account, and every synced video with it, in the app's Settings. Deleting a take on your iPhone does not delete its synced copy. To have a single synced video deleted, write to us.

7. Other services

Some features connect to services run by other companies, such as Google Docs, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. If you upload to YouTube from OnPrompt, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Nothing is posted to any service until you post it.

8. Suggestions from on-device AI

Smart cleanup uses Apple's on-device language model to suggest edits to your scripts. Suggestions can be wrong. They change nothing until you accept them, and you are responsible for the scripts you read and publish.

9. Acceptable use and prohibited content

Do not use OnPrompt to break the law or infringe anyone's rights, to record people without consent where consent is required, to interfere with or overload our server, to get around subscription checks or usage limits, or to access another person's account or data.

You may not use OnPrompt to create, record, edit or publish any content that supports or condones terrorism, antisemitism or anti-Jewish hatred. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have done so, we will permanently terminate your license and your access to OnPrompt, including OnPrompt Pro and any video sync account, without refund to the extent the law and Apple's policies allow. You will never again be allowed to use OnPrompt, on any device or under any account, and you may not reinstall the app, subscribe again or create a new account to get around this.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using OnPrompt at any time by deleting the app and, if you have one, your video sync account. We may suspend or end your access to our server features if you break these terms or if we stop offering them. If we stop offering video sync, we will give you reasonable notice so you can download your videos first.

11. Disclaimers

OnPrompt is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that OnPrompt will be uninterrupted or error free, that voice following will always land on the right line, or that recordings or synced videos will never be lost.

12. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or content, arising from or relating to OnPrompt, even if we were told they were possible. This includes damages arising from your content and recordings; from recording anyone, with or without their consent; from anything you publish; from services run by other companies; from the loss of recordings, synced videos or encryption keys; and from errors in voice following or in smart cleanup suggestions.

Our total liability for all claims relating to OnPrompt is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for OnPrompt Pro in the 12 months before the claim arose and US $50.

These limits apply to every legal theory, whether contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your content, your recordings, anything you publish, your use of OnPrompt in breach of these terms, or your violation of the law or anyone else's rights.

13. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for OnPrompt or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, or claims that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property. We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and resolving those claims. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using OnPrompt after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where we are based, without regard to conflict of law rules. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.

16. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about OnPrompt. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to whoever takes over OnPrompt. Sections 3, 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16 continue to apply after your use of OnPrompt ends.
